How to stay active during quarantine

As new COVID-19 cases continue to emerge in the world, most of the people around the globe are requested to stay at home in self-quarantine. Most of the countries are experiencing lockdown situation and only have access to life essential things. In this condition it is very difficult to have access with fitness centres or go out and exercise. Staying at home for a prolonged period of time can pose a significant challenge for physical activity and health. According to WHO recommendation 150 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity or 75 minutes of vigorous intensity physical activity per week or combination of both is necessary. This can still be achieved at home during quarantine with limited space. You can follow the simple exercise regime as follows:-

1. Take short active breaks during the day

2. Follow online exercise class

3. Walk in small spaces

4. Stand up every 30 minutes

5. Relax by meditation and deep breath

6. Floor exercise such as lunges, squats, planks

7. Yoga asanas

I hope these tips and simple exercises help you and your family get and stay, fit and healthy throughout this pandemic and well after. You are never too old or too young to start building fit habits for life.
